Located at Building 507 on Mesa Road, Distribution & Logistical Services (DLS) is responsible for providing essential services that include UCSB Mail Services, Central Receiving, Furniture Services, Surplus Sales, as well as Materiel & Logistics for all units in the Residential Operations department. Surplus Sales manages the disposition of surplus property and inventorial equipment from all campus departments in accordance with UCOP policy. Furniture Services provides moving services including deliveries, setup, and takedown of rental equipment for numerous University events including Open House, Staff Appreciation, Commencement, Move-Out, Summer Conferences, Move-In, Convocation, Parents & Family Weekend, and various other luncheons, receptions, and departmental events that promote ongoing relationships with students, staff, faculty, alumni and donors. Materiel & Logistics for all units in Residential Operations provides centralized procurement and warehouse inventory at Building 507, as well as multiple storerooms throughout the HDAE portfolio that encompass over 4.4 million gross square feet of campus facilities and a residential program that houses over 10,000 students in apartments and residence halls.
